Auto-renewal, expiry, and renewal reminders
Updated June 4, 2026
Losing a domain by letting it lapse is the most common — and most painful — mistake. To prevent it, eligible domains are set to renew automatically before they expire.
- We attempt to charge your payment method before each renewal at the then-current renewal price.
- We send reminders ahead of expiry so nothing takes you by surprise.
- You can disable auto-renewal in the dashboard; the domain then expires at the end of its term unless you renew manually.
If a domain expires it may enter a redemption period and incur registry recovery fees, or be released entirely. Renewing on time is always cheaper.
