Add or edit DNS records

Updated June 4, 2026

When you use Orbit's managed DNS, you can add records that route traffic and prove ownership. The most common record types:

  • A / AAAA — point your domain to a server's IPv4 / IPv6 address.
  • CNAME — alias one name to another (for example www to your root domain).
  • MX — direct email for your domain to your mail provider.
  • TXT — hold verification and policy values such as SPF, DKIM, and domain-ownership checks.
  1. 1Open the domain in your dashboard and go to DNS records.
  2. 2Choose the record type, then enter the host (e.g. @ or www) and the value.
  3. 3Set a TTL if needed (the default is fine for most cases) and save.
Managed DNS only applies while your domain uses Orbit's nameservers. If you point the domain elsewhere, manage records at that provider instead.
