Enable WHOIS privacy

Updated June 4, 2026

WHOIS privacy masks your personal contact details in public registration lookups, replacing them with privacy-service values. It is included at no extra cost on every domain that supports it.

  1. 1Open the domain in your dashboard.
  2. 2Toggle WHOIS privacy on.
  3. 3Save — your public record updates to show masked details.
Privacy does not remove the registry's own records or override lawful disclosure requirements, and some extensions do not support it. Where it is unavailable, ICANN's data-redaction policy still hides most personal fields by default.
